4. POPIA
Tech On Global intends to process personal information in accordance with applicable South African data-protection requirements, including the Protection of Personal Information Act (POPIA), where applicable.
Customers using the Platform are responsible for ensuring that their own processing of their customers’ personal information complies with applicable laws. Where a customer uses the Platform to collect information from their own customers, that customer may have additional legal responsibilities as the responsible party for that information.
5. Data security
Tech On Global uses reasonable technical and organisational measures to protect information against unauthorised access, loss, misuse, alteration or disclosure. These measures may include access controls, authentication, encryption in transit where appropriate, software updates and security testing. No Internet-based system can guarantee absolute security.
6. Security incidents
If Tech On Global becomes aware of a security incident affecting customer information, Tech On Global will investigate and take reasonable steps to contain and address the incident. Where required by applicable law, affected parties or authorities will be notified.
7. Customer login security
Customers must use strong passwords, avoid sharing passwords, enable available security features, remove former employees or users, protect administrator accounts and report suspicious activity. Customers are responsible for activity performed through their accounts unless caused by a confirmed Platform security failure.
8. Backups & retention
Tech On Global may maintain backups where technically feasible to support recovery and continuity. Following cancellation, Tech On Global may retain certain information for legitimate purposes such as legal compliance, accounting, fraud prevention, dispute resolution, security and record keeping. Personal information will otherwise be handled according to applicable privacy requirements and Tech On Global’s retention practices.
